Located about one mile from the rural town of Chapelton in Jamaica, St. Monica’s Children’s Home is a co-educational facility that has been serving children since its opening in 1953. It provides care for children aged four to 18 years. The facility is currently home to 15 children but has the capacity to house 30 girls and 10 boys. Boys are relocated to another facility at age 13, ensuring they receive age-appropriate care and support.
The Home is managed by the Anglican Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and operates under the jurisdiction of the state-owned Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA).

The impact of the Home on the lives of the children it serves cannot be overstated. For many of these children, the Home represents the first stable environment they have known. It is a place where they can feel safe, loved, and valued. The dedicated staff at the Home work tirelessly to create a sense of family and community for the children. They focus on the holistic development of each child, helping them to heal and grow.
Education is a cornerstone of the Home’s mission. The children attend local schools and receive additional tutoring and support to help them succeed academically. This focus on education ensures that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to build a brighter future. Additionally, the home offers various extracurricular activities, including sports, arts, and vocational training, allowing the children to explore their interests and talents.
